Jakarta (ANTARA News) – The oil and gas production of state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina rose by 12.5 percent during the first semester of 2016 as compared to that recorded in the same period last year.

Wianda noted that in the first semester of 2016, Pertaminas gas production had reached 1,710 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd).

“With this increase, Pertaminas oil and gas production rose on a consolidated basis than that in last year,” Wianda pointed out.

In the first semester, oil production was recorded at 640 thousand bpd, while it was only 569 thousand bpd in the corresponding period last year.

Wianda also remarked that the companys oil production had increased in Algeria in the first semester of the year when it reached 20 thousand bpd and gas production at 111 mmscfd.

Pertaminas oil and gas production in Malaysia was recorded at 21 thousand bpd and 89 mmscfd respectively. In Iraq, Pertaminas oil production reached 44 thousand bpd.

“The increase in production was supported by a rise in oil production in Iraq and Algeria. A significant increase in gas production was reported in Algeria and Malaysia,” Wianda affirmed.
