TEMPO.COJakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati expressed her commitment to support domestic industries by issuing policies that can boost the national industry growth.

“We want to support and understand the industrial world. If industries need facilities, and if they can create new jobs and boost the domestic industry, then we will support it,” Sri Mulyani said when attending an event at the Industry Ministry’s Office in Jakarta on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.

Sri Mulyani explained that she attended the meeting to gather inputs and feedbacks from business owners in a bid to formulate appropriate polices. Sri Mulyani hopes that facilities provided by the Finance Ministry will be able to boost creativity and innovation of business owners to increase their competitiveness.

“Our aim is to provide facilities that can accommodate all. We definitely would say no if the facilities are to be enjoyed by certain individuals,” Sri added.

Sri Mulyani claimed that she would continue to improve the Finance Ministry’s directorate general of customs and excise in order to ensure smooth export and import flows in accordance with applicable regulations.

“We will continue to conduct improvement. If our officials violate regulations, don’t hesitate to report them. We will take actions, as long as the report is true and not a defamation,” she asserted.
