Garuda Indonesia Signs MoU With Grab for Loyalty Schemes

Jakarta. Flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has signed a memorandum of understanding with ride-hailing service Grab to introduce loyalty schemes and improve conditions for customers.
Under the MoU signed on Monday (11/12), customers of both companies can enjoy more benefits from their loyalty programs.
Grab will offer “GrabGift” vouchers to passengers who purchased Garuda Indonesia tickets online, while its customers in Indonesia can join the carrier’s frequent flyer program GarudaMiles by redeeming their accumulated points under Grab’s loyalty scheme called GrabRewards, the companies said in a joint statement.
More than 1.6 million passengers have already enrolled in the GarudaMiles program.
“This cooperation is an ongoing effort by Garuda Indonesia to provide more value to its passengers … Grab users who hold GarudaMiles are able to access the services through various partners and airports around the world,” Garuda Indonesia president director Pahala Mandiri said in the statement.
The partnership will also ease Garuda Indonesia’s employees in their daily duties through Grab’s services. The ride-hailing company will be an on-demand transportation partner in Garuda Indonesia’s door-to-door cargo services.
“We welcome this strategic partnership and will focus on improving the user experience on an ongoing basis by utilizing our extensive network,” Grab Indonesia managing director Ridzki Kramadibrata said.
GarudaMiles members can also redeem their mileage points for non-flight transactions, like hotel and telecommunications vouchers, through the company’s banking partners.
