INVESTMENT DEVELOPMENT |
| Canada has a strong investment
presence in Indonesia. Canadian direct investments in indonesia are primarily in mining,
oil and gas, and infrastructure development. Investment growth has expanded beyond the
natural resources sectors in recent years including financial services, environmental
consulting services, and agrifood sectors. Currently there are over 60 Canadian companies with resident offices in Indonesia. These companies are primarily involved in the sectors of mining, oil and gas, telecommunications/informationtechnology, financial services, and agrifood, including fast food franchises. In addition, there are several more Canadian companies that are active in Indonesia through partnerships, agents, subcontracts, and franchise agreements. Moreover, the Indonesian trade and investment liberalization measures will provide Canadian investors, suppliers, and partners a strong foundation for increased commercial opportunity and activity. |
