Parliamentary election that was held on April 5, 2004 passed smoothly without violence and smooth. The smooth election was expected to boost stock markets and got positive respond from investors. Peaceful Indonesia election proved positive evidence to foreign observers concerning actual circumstances in Indonesia. Legislative elections have run quite peacefully, contrary to predictions made by certain political observers previously.

Currently, foreign investors seem were not taking a wait and see attitude toward Indonesia. Investors commence to invest in Indonesia even though still in a small amount.

After legislative elections, Indonesia will still conduct direct presidential elections on July 5, 2004. The government has well prepared in carry out this second round election, includes efforts in controlling macroeconomics stability.
