Analytical Services Laboratories (ASL)

Analytical Services Laboratories (ASL) has been performing water quality and soil testing in Indonesia to clients in the mining and oil and gas sectors since 1995. ASL Indonesia's state of the art laboratory in Bogor performs environmental baseline testing and routine monitoring services for companies who require international standards of quality assurance and quality control.

The Bank of Nova Scotia

The Bank of Nova Scotia has a 48.28 percent equity position in PT Bank Arya Panduatra Tbk. It has seconded two senior officers to Bank Arya in an advisory capacity to provide support across key business lines. Bank Arya is currently positioned as a retail/commercial bank offering asset/liability products including loans, generic deposit instruments and accounts, trade finance capability and basic treasury services.

BATA Ltd.

BATA established PT Sepatu Bata Tbk. in 1931 as a manufacturer of footwear. It has two factories and several Independent Retail Dealers.

Beak International Inc.

Beak International Inc., through its 100 percent Indonesian owned licensee PT Beakindo Pacific, has been active in Indonesia since 1993. It provides environmental consulting services for the mining, forestry and industrial sectors, including environmental impact assessments, environmental liability and risk assessments, environmental auditing, ecosystem restoration, water resource management, geographic information systems and remote sensing services.

Bombardier Inc.

Bombardier Inc. is engaged in the design, development, manufacturing, and marketing activities in the fields of transportation equipment, aerospace, and recreational products. It also provides financial services and services related to its products and core competencies. The Montreal-based corporation operates plants in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, employing 47,000 people. Its Canadair and de Havilland operations in Canada have been actively marketing products in Indonesia, including the Canadair 415 firefighting/maritime mission aircraft. Bombardier Transportation is supplying electric commuter cars to the National Railways (Perumka)and is pursing opportunities to provide turnkey rail transit systems.

Canadian Occidental Petroleum Ltd.

Canadian Occidental Petroleum Ltd. is a Canadian-based international oil and gas exploration and development company. Its Indonesian subsidiary, Canadian Petroleum Indonesia Ltd., operates active exploration programs in Bengkulu, South Sumatera and in offshore Seram, as well as having participating interest in the West Natuma Seaand Merangin, South Sumatera.

Canadian Wheat Board

The Canadian Wheat Board (CWB) is the marketing agency for Western Canadian wheat and barley growers. Its role is to market these grains for the best possible price. All proceeds from sales, less the marketing costs, are passed back to farmers. The CWB is currently Indonesia's second largest supplier of wheat.

Canora (Asia) Inc.

Canora (Asia) Inc. is owned by a select group of environmental engineering and consulting companies from across Canada that provide services to governments, the private sector and international development organizations in the Southeast Asia region. Canora focuses on providing technical solutions in the development of environmental infrastructure specific to water supply, waste water treatment and solid waste management for urban and industrial complexes, and environmental services in areas of impact assessment, resource management and institutional strengthening addressing terrestrial and aquatic environmental issues.

Carmanah Resources Ltd.

Carmanah, through its representative office GFB Resources (Java) Limited, has several oil and gas exploration and production projects in Indonesia.

Country Style

Country Style signed a master franchise agreement with PT Intimas Lestari Nusantara in 1997. To date, three outlets have been opened, offering donuts and other baked goods, sandwiches, soups and chili. In addition to the free standing outlets that offer the full food and beverage menu, PT Intimas Lestari Nusantara has established mobile carts and/or display units in Indomaret convenience stores.

Get Poppin'

A franchise of Get Poppin', POPPIN', was established in Jakarta in 1995 selling flavoured popcorn and other snacks.

Gulf Indonesia Resources

Gulf Indonesia Resources and its predecessors have operated in Indonesia since 1961. The company is a crude oil and natural gas exploration and producers and operates in Central and North Sumatera as well offshore East Java and Northwest Natuna. In September 1997, Gulf Indonesia was listed on the New York Stock Exchange as its parent Gulf Canada Resources sold a 28 percent public interest in Gulf Indonesia.

The Hatfield Group established a Canadian-Indonesian joint venture, PT Hatfindo Prima, in 1990 to provide natural resources, fisheries and environmental consulting services in Indonesia and the Southeast Asia region. Since then, international corporations have contracted Hatfindo's services for projects in the oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, pulp and paper, forestry, pharmaceuticals, fisheries and aquaculture sectors. It has also completed several institutional strengthening projects for government agencies.

PT Hickling Indonesia was established to assist government and private sector organizations realize Indonesia's potential for economic and business growth.

Husky Oil Ltd. has had energy investments in Indonesia since 1982.

PT INGOLD Management

PT INGOLD Management, a subsidiary of INCO Technical Services (of INCO Ltd.), is a company providing exploration management services to Ingold Holdings Indonesia Inc.. Ingold was established in 1990 and currently manages a 7th Generation Contract of Work located in Sumatera (PT INGOLD Sumatera Satu), a 7th Generation Contract of Work in the Moluccas (PT INGOLD Maluku Satu), and a 5th Generation Contract of Work in Irian Jaya (PT INGOLD Antares).

INCO Ltd.

In 1968 PT International Nickel Indonesia (PT Inco) was founded by INCO Ltd. to explore and develop the lateritic nickel deposits on the island of Sulawesi. Commercial production of nickel matte began in April 1978. Presently PT Inco is a fully integrated mining and processing operation with an annual production capacity of 100 million pounds of nickel in matte. In January 1996, PT Inco and the Indonesian Government signed the modification and extension of the initial Contract of Work (COW) which will remain in place until December 2025. A major expansion is currently underway designed to increase production capacity by 50 percent to 150 million pounds of nickel in matte annually.

International Pursuit Corporation

International Pursuit Corporation, through its Indonesian companies PT Indonesian Pursuit Explorer and PT Golden Borneo, has interests in five properties in Kalimantan in the early stages of geological exploration.

Kilborn SNC-Lavalin Inc.

Kilborn SNC-Lavalin Inc. is a subsidiary of SNC-Lavalin Inc., and provides engineering, procurement and construction services to the mining and minerals industry worldwide. Kilborn has been active in Indonesia since the early 1980's, and established a joint venture company, PT Kilborn Pakar Rekayasa, in 1991. PT Kilborn Pakar Rekayasa has undertaken due diligence, feasibility studies, engineering, and project management for projects in the coal, gold, cement and general industrial sectors throughout Indonesia, and in Brunei, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

LaSalle College Group

The LaSalle College Group established a joint venture international college, PT Indotex LaSalle International College, in early 1997. Its provides professional training in Business Administration, Computer Graphics, Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing, and Apparel Production Management. Its Documentation Center features research and development facilities for the textile industry.

Les Produits Fraco Ltee

Specialists in the design and manfacturing of mast climbing hydraulic work platforms for the construction industry, Fraco established a joint venture in 1994 with PT Kharisma Konstruksi Perkasa. Its mast climbing work platforms have been used in several types of construction projects in Indonesia.

Manulife Financial

Manulife Financial established a joint venture PT life insurance company, PT Asuransi Jiwa Dharmala Manulife, in 1985. PT Asuransi Jiwa Dharmala Manulife has over 1300 full time sales agents and operates 50 branch offices in 26 cities in Indonesia.

PT Manulife Aset Manajemen Indonesia manages both a retail and institutional assets on behalf of its Indonesian clients. The company runs four mutual funds and also provides pension and corporate advisory services.

MMMuffins Canada Corporation

MMMuffins Canada Corporation signed a master franchise agreement with MT Muffins Rasa Utama in 1986. To date, four outlets have been opened in Bandung.

McCain International Inc.

McCain International Inc. has been selling frozen food products to fast food restaurants, chain restaurants, and supermarkets for several years in Indonesia. McCain has a representative office which is working to further promote the McCain brand and products, including technical services and training. Its range of supply includes frozen french fries and potato specialties, frozen appetizers, frozen vegetables, frozen pizzas, frozen desserts, frozen juice concentrates, and UHT juices.

McElhanney Consulting Service Ltd.

Through PT McElhanney Indonesia, McElhanney provides surveying, digital mapping, digital orthophoto, geographic information system, road engineering and resource development engineering. It has completed several projects for clients in the natural resource development, infrastructure, transportation, and telecommunications sectors in Indonesia.

Minorca Resources Inc.

Minorca Resources Inc. is a gold mining and exploration company with interests in properties in North Sumatera and West Java.

N.D. Lea International Ltd.

N.D. Lea International Ltd. provides consulting services for a broad range of speciality areas with an emphasis on planning, engineering, management, institutional development and training in the transportation sector. NDLI has had presence in Indonesia for more than 20 years, and is currently providing planning and engineering services to Government clients for the development of the road network.

Northern Telecom Inc.

Nothern Telecom Inc. provides communications infrastructure and services. It established a representative office in Indonesia in 1997, and retains a local distributor for its PABX and Datanetwork products.

Pacific Amber Resources Ltd.

Pacific Amber Resources is a mining exploration company with interests in gold properties in West and Central Kalimantan. Its subsidiary, PT Pacific Amber Indonesia, provides technical services to the company's Indonesian projects.

Pauwels Canada Inc.

Pauwels Canada is a designer and manufacturer of power transformers, producing up to 500 MVA 500 kV class power transformers and HVDC converter transformers. It is represented in Indonesia by PT Pauwels Trafo Asia.

PIXCOM Group

The PIXCOM Group provides creative, technical and managerial services for television production and multimedia communications. Its Indonesian arm, PIXINDO, specializes in television programming, commercials and documentaries, and corporate videos. Established in Jakarta since 1996, PIXINDO manages a wide range of assignments, from small budget projects to large scale productions.

Placer Dome Inc.

Placer Dome is a global mining company whose primary emphasis is gold. In 1995 it established PT Placer Emas Indonesia to pursue gold exploration opportunities in Indonesia. It has an interest in a Contract of Work on a property in Kalimantan.

Reid Crowther & Partners Ltd.

Reid Crowther recently established PT Reid Crowther Indonesia to strengthen itspresence in Southeast Asia. Reid Crowther will provide consulting services for Industrial and Manufacturing; Refinery, Oil, Gas and Petrochemical; Natural Resources; Mining, Food and Beverages; Transportation, Municipal Infrastructure; and, Urban Development Sectors. Its vision is "To be recognized as highly regarded, innovative leaders in consulting with a reputation for delivering value to our clients".

SNC-Lavalin Inc.

SNC-Lavalin Inc. is an engineering construction firm providing engineering, procurement, project management and project financing services in the industrial, transportation, power, infrastructure, telecommunications, environment, and defence sectors. It has been providing engineering services in Indonesia since 1977. Projects have included design, construction supervision, and EPC for thermal and hydro power plants, water resources and transportation infrastructure, and industrial engineering.

Saint Cinnamon Bake Shoppes International

Saint Cinnamon signed a master franchise agreement with PT Identitama Dhata Tangguh in 1996. Since then, the company has established six? outlets in Jakarta.

Sandwell Engineering Inc.

Sandwell is a consulting engineering firm specializing in the forest products, transportation, mining, energy, manufacturing and institutional sectors. Since 1970, it has had over 30 pulp and paper and forestry projects, over 50 materials handling, bulk terminal, container terminal and rail and ship transportation projects in Indonesia, as well as many other assignments in Southeast Asia.

Simons International Corporation

Simons International Corporation is a global engineering, contracting and related professional services firm with companies and offices worldwide. With over 3000 employees, Simons provides a comprehensive range of services from strategic planning, engineering, project and construction management, through ot design build, training and enterprise development services. Simons provides services to the forest industry, mining, food and beverage, environmental, specialty chemical, and consumer products industries. Simons established an office in Jakarta in 1991 to serve their Indonesian clients.

Stream Flo Industries Ltd.

For over ten years, Stream Flo Regional Representative Office has been meeting the oil and gas industry requirements in Southeast Asia. Supplying choke valves, control valves, actuators, pig ball valves, check valves and gate valves, Stream Flo hasexpanded its market coverage by full technical and after sales support.

Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada

Sun Life entered the Indonesian life insurance market in 1992. It operates a joint venture insurance company known as PT Asuransi Sun Life Indonesia. The company distributes individual life insurance products through a career agency distribution system of over 800 full time sales agents throughout Indonesia.

Talisman (Asia) Ltd.

Talisman is an oil and gas company active in the exploration, development, and production of crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids. Through the acquisition of Bow Valley in 1994, Talisman gained interests in several oil and gas properties in Kalimantan, Sumatera and Madura.

Teck Corporation

Teck Corporation is an international mine development and operating company. Teck conducts exploration in Indonesia in a joint venture with Meekatharra Minerals of Australia. The joint venture is actively exploring seven Contracts of Work in Sumatera, Kalimantan, and Irian Jaya.

Tingey Upaya Indonesia, PT

Tingey Upaya provides wide ranging consulting services and coordinates legal, financial, and tax advice to foreign companies doing business in Indonesia.

Toronto Dominion Bank (TD Bank)

The Toronto Dominion Bank established a representative office in Jakarta in June 1997 to better serve the trade finance needs of its North American and international customers, as well as to enhance its presence as lead arranger and underwriter for loans.

Tracer Petroleum Corporation

Tracer Petroleum Corporation is an oil and gas exploration and production company with its operational headquarters, Permin Tracer Petroleum Ltd., in Jakarta and corporate headquarters in Vancouver, Canada. Its shares are quoted on the Vancouver and NASDAQ stock exchanges. At the present time Trace is carrying out an exploration program on the North Tanjung Block Production Sharing Contract in Kalimantan where it owns a 100 percent interest. Tracer also has a 4.25 percent interest in the Ogan Komering Block in Sumatra.

 

Westcoast Energy International Inc.

Westcoast Energy is an integrated energy services company. The company, through its subsidiary Westcoast Power Inc., has a 43 percent interest in PT Puncakjaya Power (PJP). PJP owns and manages approximately $800 million of integrated power generation plant which provides electrical power to PT Freeport Indonesia's Grasberg mine.
