Indonesian Arts and Culture Scholarship 2018

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia is opening applications for the 2018 Indonesian Art and Culture Scholarship (IACS) for youths in Canada. The IACS has been conducted since 2003, as a follow up of the Government of Indonesia’s commitment in enhancing regional cooperation and cultural promotion, especially in creating Indonesian friendly relations abroad.

The program will be awarded to 72 youths: 66 foreign youths and 6 Indonesian youths. The IACS 2018 program is planned to be held for 100 days, from March 17th to June 24th 2018, with detail program as follow:

The theme of IACS 2018, “The Colours of Beautiful Indonesia” depicts the diversity of the archipelago in terms of culture, religion, and beliefs- including livelihood, as well as the traditions, mindsets, and customs of Indonesian people who are tolerant and living in harmony with one another and become one of the nation’s assets.

The Government of Indonesia shall bear all expenses for participants, covering the cost of the tuition fee (including extra-curricular activities); local transportation during the program, round trip economy class ticket, full accommodation (board and lodging); health insurance (limited/standard), and a monthly allowance (for 3 months).

Prospective participants are expected to have strong motivation to learn about the art and culture of Indonesia and potentially help the Indonesian Representatives in promoting Indonesia. Participants are expected to have an artistic and cultural background and possess basic knowledge about Indonesia.
